  Cable Maintenance
  • Always grease your cables when replacing them. When replacing a complete cable, chase the old cable out by taping the new one onto it. Pull the new one through behind the old, being careful not to break or snag the old one in doing so.
  • Keeping spare cables in your glovebox gets you back on the road quickly and is strongly advised.
  • If you have an older Vespa and want to be safe, we recommend that you purchase and install a full cable kit. It will save you money and make your shifting & braking experiences a lot smoother!
  • Use a good lubricant periodically to keep your cables shifting smoothly and to keep them from becoming brittle. We sell an excellent grease (available separately).
  • For tech tips on the easiest way to change all of your different cables, see our website at www.scooterworks.com.
